About ad sizes

Pick sizes that work
not just ones that fit

Why standard sizes matter

Publishers build their pages around a set of standard ad sizes defined by the IAB. Creatives in those sizes can run on far more inventory, so a campaign with the right set of sizes reaches more people for the same budget.

Start with the core sizes

The 300×250 medium rectangle, 728×90 leaderboard, 300×600 half page and 320×50 mobile leaderboard are among the most widely supported sizes, so they are a safe base for any display set. Add billboards, skyscrapers and mobile banners when you need more reach or more impact.

Design at 2× and check specs

Export images at double the slot size so banners stay sharp on high-density screens, then let the slot scale them down. File-size limits, HTML5 rules and animation length differ by DSP and publisher, so confirm the specs for each platform before final export.

Preview before launch

A banner that looks bold on its own can disappear next to page content. Check each size in a real layout with the ad preview tool, browse finished work in the Creative Showroom, and see every format AdGeeks runs in ad formats.

Frequently asked questions

What are the most common display ad sizes?

The 300×250 medium rectangle, 728×90 leaderboard, 300×600 half page and 320×50 mobile leaderboard are among the most widely supported sizes.

What is an MPU?

MPU (mid-page unit) is the common name for the 300×250 medium rectangle.

What size should I export banners at?

Export images at twice the slot size, for example 600×500 for a 300×250 slot, so they stay sharp on high-density screens.

Which sizes work on mobile?

The 320×50 mobile leaderboard, 300×50 mobile banner, 320×100 large mobile banner, 300×250 medium rectangle and the 320×480 interstitial are the usual mobile sizes.
